Pipsqueak Update

Lots going on with the Pipsqueak right now. She has picked up lots of cute little traits and idiosyncrasies in the past few months:
First, the stats. Pipsqueak just turned 18 months old; is 32 3/4" tall (that's a growth spurt of 1 3/4" in 3 months!); is 20# 7.5oz; and has an increasing amount of hair. At the checkup, the doctor was a little concerned about her weight. She has been steadily dropping in percentiles, starting at 50, then 35, then 25, then 15, and now she is in the 10th percentile. The remedy is to have her eat more like daddy and less like mommy. That means lots of butter on the potatoes, and, generally, just more calories then we have been giving her.
Second, she is a big help in the mornings when we get ourselves ready for the day. She likes to hand me my shirt when I ask for it. She also takes Lizzy's blanket and moves it from the family room to the kitchen for Lizzy to have all day. Finally, after a put a biscuit in Lizzy's Kong, she takes it and lays it gently on Lizzy's bed. The funny thing here is when Lizzy gets a little excited and grabs it when Pipsqueak isn't ready to hand over the toy. She gets the very perplexed look on her face, furrowing her brow and sticking out her bottom lip. It is quite cute!
Finally, Questions Pipsqueak Knows the Answer to:
  1. What does a cow say? "Moo"
  2. What does a dog say? "Woof"
  3. What does a tiger say? "Rowr"

Setting an Example

Now that the Pipsqueak can interact with me, I felt it was high time I started setting a good example for her. So, yesterday, I decided it was time I show Lauren a good breakfast. I had to get up early to take her to the doctor for her 18 month checkup and I was feeling hungry. A lesser man would have just gone hungry. I decided to use this as an oppurtunity. I got to show my little girl the type of balanced breakfast her father likes to have: a granola bar filled with peanut butter and chocolate chips and a Dr. Pepper. YUM!

Gallery Update

So, here's another post about our family gallery. It's had a structural overhaul to make the main page a bit more accessible. I've also enabled Easy URL so I can provide the links to you, dear reader, that will take you directly to the albums. That said, I have a few additions to bring to your attention.

A Kindred Spirit

Apparently, I am not the only one who loathes the Doodlebops. You can find this accursed show lilsted at #3. Normally, I might protest that these clowns should be #1, but I have to agree with his assessment of Higglytown Heroes. It's just as creepy as he says. At least once, they all jump inside each other. Oh, and the squirrel is voiced by Edie McClure. I want them, just once, to have the little squirrel say "They think he's one righteous dude!"

Mr Handyman Strikes Again

The room is finished. Tonight, Debbie and I got to work after Lauren went to bed and painted the playroom. I will say, I was getting nervous about our paint. We are painting a 10x10 room plus the ceiling, but the gallon of paint was getting low by the end. Turns out, that's because it goes on a thick and we won't need to do a second coat. YEA! I'm all for not having to paint anymore, it's quite the pain in the keister. I'm very tired and a little painty right now. It's the ceiling that really takes the most effort due to the awkward nature of using the roller on a pole.
On a another home improvement note, I have upgraded our TiVo from a 96 Hour Series 1 to a 457 Hour Series 2. My friend and I worked out a whole swap deal so that I could keep the lifetime subscription, get the Series 2 Tivo, and give him my Series 1. All I needed to do was buy the hard drive (a Seagate 400 GB). So now, we can watch 19 straight days of television without stopping to sleep. Is that a bit excessive?
