It's a good thing ...

my wife appreciates my sense of humor. I mean, it's a REALLY good thing or I would be dead by now. Yesterday, I forget what preceipitated this, but Debbie's response to me was "Well, you don't have to get up before 6 everyday like I do!!" My only response was "Yeah .... but you should be used to it by now."
If I didn't have that "I'm kidding and I fully appreciate what you do" smile on my face, I'm pretty sure the best outcome would have been a quick and painless death. More than likely, I would have suffered a hideously slow and painful one. Fortunately, she noticed the smile (in particular the "I fully appreciate what you do" portion of the smile) and let me off with a minor beating. I tell ya, it's a good thing she appreciates my sense of humor!
