I actually read on occasion
For those who don't already know this about me, I'm not an avid reader. I would rather spend my time playing on the computer or watching TV. It's just something in my personality that says reading books isn't all that fun. Now, here's the funny part. If I decide to read a book, I will not stop until I finish it. It's kind of an addiction I guess. When the fabulous author asked me to read her book, I put it off for a little while. Then, one night while Debbie was out of town, I picked the book up at 11:00. I was going to be seeing Stacey the next day and I wanted to have comments about her book. Well, I finished it around 2:00 in the morning. That's right ... 3 hours ... straight through. Of course, this little endeavor led to a very strange conversation the next day as Stacey and I worked out the details of a fight scene using comments like, "If I were to strangle you, this is how I would do it".
Cut to yesterday. Debbie was using the day to be productive and I didn't have a whole lot to do around the house (or at least Debbie was nice enough to let me think that for a day). Around a week ago, Debbie had bought me a book she had heard me mention and figured I would like: The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom. I had already spent several hours playing the computer and was tired of that. I was enjoying the serenity of a quiet household (cuz we all know THAT'S not going to last very long). So, I decided to pick up the book and read it. About 2 hours later, I was done (It is a great book and I highly recommend it). Another book, finished in one sitting. Who knows? I may come to like this reading thing after all. There was a calm over the house with the TV and radio off. I kinda enjoyed it.
