How I Spent my Holiday
Did you all enjoy your Memorial Day weekend? Debbie and I certainly did. We spent the weekend visiting her best friend, Caryn, and her family in Alpena, MI. We had a fabulous time visiting them and the kids were adorable. There's nothing quite like the feeling of little children scurrying around you screaming "WAKE UP ED!!!" at 7:00 am. That was their favorite game ... scream at Eddie to wake him up. Chris and Caryn were kind enough to prevent the kids from doing this at 6:00 am, as they wanted to do. I actually did enjoy this ... those kids were adorable and I got to play a game that my father played with me. On Saturday mornings, dad would sleep in a little bit and mom would send my brother upstairs to wake him up. He would pretend to still be asleep as we ran around the bed trying to wake him. When we got close enough, he would grab us , still pretending to be asleep, and pretend we were like a teddy bear. Needless to say, my brother and I enjoyed this game immensely. So too did Caryn's kids. They would run around trying to wake me up. I would remain motionless ... like a lion ready to pounce ... until they got close enough where I could grab them and pretend they were my teddy bear. :) We also learned that when kids are around, a digital camera is a wonderful thing. You can take as many pictures as you like and can immediately tell if the picture you wanted to take was the picture you actually took. I'll probably post a couple of the shots we took, but all 3 of Chris and Caryn's children are wonderful.
I'll try to update this blog more than once this week, most likely with pictures from this weekend. See you then!
