Heard from Blogger.com
So, I got an email today from Blogger.com in response to the comment problem. Specifically, I got the same response I give testers who tell me a problem ... "I can't reproduce it ... might be fixed ... try it again" God, I hate me. That's such a smug response, but since I give it all the time, I understand where this comes from. So, in the name of testing ... please please please submit comments and let me know if they show up withing "minutes" as promised.

Please work ... Please work ...
I'll add my "please, please work" to that as well. Here's the weird thing, Ed. When you commented on my blog earlier this week and I was already signed into blogger (cause I had to republish to see the comment) I commented back to you and that time it did show up within "minutes." So do I have to be signed on to comment or something? I can't figure it out. I hope this works! : )
OKay, I'll give it a try. Hope this comes through! I'm posting it at 11:40pm, Friday night.
Well ... I don't think they fixed it, but I just happened to hit publish minutes after Heather posted her comment.
I do think I have a reasonable explanation for the problem. This site is not run on a Blogger.com server. This is a friend's server and whenever I publish, I must provide a username and password so Blogger.com can FTP the new post + any added comments to chrispy.net. I just sent off an email to the guy who's handling my issue (I don't expect a response until Monday), but I think this comment appearance problem may just be a fact of life given my current setup.
If this is the case and they can't post comments without the username and password, I would like to see them change it so I at least get the emails immediately. That way, I know to go to the site and republish my blog so all can enjoy the witty banter.
